PostHeaderIcon M48 Apache Helicopter Crewman’s Gas Mask

This mask has been demilled and is no longer serviceable. Also, it no longer has it’s filter/blower unit that is more or less required for use. Nonetheless, a nice example of a very rare mask, even after 20 odd years or so since it’s introduction(the M43 series in general) into service. The mask was never a completely viable option for protective gear, due mainly to it’s complexity and cost-per-unit. The mask is somewhat difficult to repair or service, due to it’s all in one design. This mask is the improved and “redesigned” M48 model following the M43A1. The M45 masks were considered to replace the M43 and have in recent years past with other helicopter flight crews. Any questions, please ask, either through message or comment. I will try to answer to the best of my knowledge. Thanks.

PostHeaderIcon WW2 French Issued Gasmask

This mask was not manufactured in France but issued to French police in Paris. I know this because it says in the Paper work! i have had the paper work translated so no worries there. in the corner it is dated 5th Juin 1939, or in English June 5th 1939. the filter its self is not the correct filter in some sense, that type of filter was used on earlier version of the mask so it some what was the right filter. the police just used the older filter on it instead of the newer one. the newer one was just a tad bit larger.

PostHeaderIcon WW1 In Colour – on Earth

World War I was the first modern global military conflict which took place in Europe between 1914 to 1918. Archaic military tactics met modern industrialised warfare for the first time, resulting casualties on a previously unimaginable scale. Men rotted in the mud, then were sent to face massed machine gun fire, modern artillary, tanks and chemical weapons. Over 40 million soldiers and civilians died and countless others were physically maimed or mentally scarred by the horrors of trench warfare.
